rhode island writers colony

Based in Warren, the Rhode Island Writers Colony is an annual two-week retreat offering space for four emerging writers to hone their craft. At the mid-point of the residency, the writers head to AS220 for a reading of their work. This year’s writers are Baltimore fiction writer Carla Du Pree, Brooklyn-based globetrotter Mateo Askaripour, Atlanta poet Lena Hamilton, and Qurratulayn Muhammad, who has previously written dystopian young adult historical fantasy under the name Kayti Nika Raet. The event is hosted by two-time colony resident Jason Reynolds
