After dropping off (or exchanging) your winter coats at Buy Nothing Day, head to the Athenaeum for post-Thanksgiving wine and art talk. Photographer Scott Lapham and writer Kate Schapira will have a conversation about the role of the environment in their own work. Lapham is best known for black and white work focusing largely on the forests and ponds of New England, with occasional traces of human interference. Schapira’s writing deals explicitly with current environmental issues. For several summers, her Climate Anxiety Counseling booth has allowed people to openly discuss their fears for the future.
