The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts offers fellowships each year to visual artists and writers, and the most recent batch of winners are reading as part of the state’s annual fellowship exhibit. (2017 applications are due April 1!) Poets Franny Choi and Tina Cane will be joined by fiction writers Craig Alan Demi and Colin Channer. This also marks the final local performance by Folk Arts Fellowship recipient Bisi Kowawole, a drummer who’s retiring to his native Nigeria. Get there early to check out excellent visual work by Juan Jose Barboza-Gubo, Meredith Younger, Johnny Adimando and James Janecek.
