As far as weather goes, this hasn’t been the best year for summer outdoor programming. Nevertheless, we trudge on. The RI Philharmonic Orchestra has a roaming summer pops program featuring Classical Hits 101, from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture (that’s the one with the cannon) to graduation opener “Pomp and Circumstance.” (Weird!) They’re making a stop at the Temple to Music in Roger Williams Park. There’s also some more contemporary stuff pulled from movie scores like The Dark Knight Rises and Star Trek: Into Darkness. It’s a free concert, and the Temple to Music is a great place to see pretty much anything.
