The wolves come out to play in a two-part production from Austria’s Salzburg Marionette Theater, who return to Rhode Island College after a well-regarded production of The Sound of Music a few years back. First up there’s Peter, the pesky Russian boy that won’t stop yelling about wolves when there aren’t really any around. (Until there are!) Then there’s Little Red Riding Hood, the gullible little girl who has trouble telling her own grandmother apart from a vicious animal. Both stories are told via elaborately handcrafted marionettes. I’d personally rather see the company’s production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle, but this works too.
