There’s only one very exciting piece in the current group exhibition at Wheeler’s Chazan Gallery. It’s really worth checking out, though; Yizhak Elyashiv’s formally precise, untitled work features eight different intaglio prints overlaid with lines that travel quite seamlessly from one print to the next. The yellowish brick forms and abstract white lines are meant to suggest the flowing movement of water. Sadly it’s Elyashiv’s only piece in the show, one which seems overly crowded with repetitive pieces by three other artists. The four men are printmaking faculty and alumni in the art department at Rhode Island College.
