“Let’s go to Boston and make out” isn’t a phrase one hears very often, so it really jumps out on Saddest Faction, the sophomore album from Richmond, VA punk band Sea of Storms. “On the Way Home” is a brooding emo-sounding thing, but Brandon Peck’s super-serious delivery belies the dark humor in a lot of the songwriting. (He follows up with suggestions for visiting Arizona or France.) Their new album is out on Tor Johnson Records, who bring them to town for a show with locals The Hammer Party and Sullest.
