For the second time in three years, Island Moving Company heads outdoors to present its site-specific ballet Second Star to the Right: A Tale of Hook and Pan. The production will be danced on the docks at Fort Adams and also aboard the tall ship Oliver Hazard Perry, where the dancers will fly high above the audience with what looks like some very complicated rigging and/or silks. IMC artistic director Miki Ohlsen began working on the piece in 2009, and its 2016 premiere sold out quickly, partly because the Coast Guard regulates how many people can board the ship at any one time. The live score will be conducted under the direction of composer Tobias Andrews.
The performance runs through Sunday.
