There’s a six minute cap on the narrative films featured in the 10th annual Short Short Story Film Festival. “The success of these stories is that they are driven more by depth than length,” explains festival director Toni Pennacchia, who has programmed an international mix of live action and animated films representing six continents. The festival’s divided into two separate programs, Heartstrings and Headtrip, each of which has roughly fifteen shorts packed into an 80 minute runtime. (Heartstrings, the more sentimental set, screens at 2 and 6:30; Headtrip focuses on weirder stuff, as you probably suspected, and that one plays at 4 and 8:30.)
