This summer you’ll have plenty of opportunities to watch Shakespeare in various parks. The new Toil and Trouble Shakespeare Project has an alternative concept: Shakespeare in a bar. With no director and just one rehearsal, a pretty large cast will collaboratively work to pull off a one-night-only production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Founders Kelly Robertson, Anastasia LaFrance, and Cassidy McCartan describe it as “half drunk Shakespeare, half guerrilla theatre, all fun.” The Monday show date likely stems from the fact that these are serious actors who are doing other shows the rest of the week.
Askew opens at 7pm. The show starts at 8.
