Savoy Books celebrated its grand opening over the weekend, and the two-story shop is a visual marvel, from the elaborate door hardware to the tiny dioramas located at mouse height beneath the bookcases. It’s an ideal location for old-timey Suzanne Rindell, whose glamorous 2013 novel The Other Typist dealt with scandals in a prohibition-era police station. Her latest is Three Martini Lunch, which features three alternating narrators bouncing between the midtown world of 1950s book publishing and the Greenwich Village literary scene. I’m only partway through it, but so far it’s great.
