Yellow Peril’s lively group exhibit Take only what you can carry with you features work that curator Andrew Paul Woolwright categorizes broadly as minimal romanticism. (Many of the artists work in the Hudson Valley.) Highlights include Kathy Goodell’s elliptical Phantasmagorique 10, a serene ink and acrylic abstraction. I also enjoyed Andrea Frank’s rounded photographs of forest pools, scratched until they look nothing like forest pools at all. Not every piece clicks – Lauren Fejarang’s spraypainted concrete was appealing, her Alice In Wonderland foil thing not so much –but overall the artists show a well-reasoned approach to understanding the natural world.
