Talking Heads recorded most of their music at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, so it’s tempting to say that they’re a natural fit for a Caribbean makeover. More importantly, though, the great Tina Weymouth kept the bass near the forefront on danceable rock singles like “Burning Down The House” and “Once In A Lifetime,” not to mention the oddly enduring “This Must Be The Place”. Talking Dreads founder Mystic Bowie isn’t just some superfan, though. Since 1996 he’s been a member of Tom Tom Club, the side project founded by Weymouth and drummer Chris Frantz during Talking Heads’ heyday.
