It’s an abnormally good night for shows, and I’m not just talking about Thelma “Don’t Leave Me This Way” Houston and twin sisters Nina “Boricua! Morena!” Sky doing their Pride events. The Low Anthem and Allysen Callery are both celebrating the release of new albums (at the Columbus and Sandywoods Center for the Arts, respectively), while former Dum Dum Girl Kristin Control brings her studied synth-pop to The Met. Best of all, though, is Brooklyn quartet TEEN, who roll into Fete along with Wye Oak. The three Lieberson sisters and bassist Boshra al-Saadi recently released Love Yes, a smart, fun collection of arty pop songs. “All About Us” has been on frequent rotation at my desk for the past few months.
