I’m not a huge Jim Jarmusch fan, but I’m super excited for The Dead Don’t Die, the zombie comedy with a cast that includes so many of my favorite people, including but not limited to Chloe Sevigny, Selena Gomez, Tilda Swinton, RZA, and Carol Kane. (Unfortunately it’s been a crazy few days and I haven’t actually gotten to see it yet.) It’s apparently very polarizing, with reviewers either loving it or loathing the film’s environmental wake-up call, his tendency to break the fourth wall, and the film’s apparently very slow pace.
It’s currently playing in a number of local theaters, although it’s possible some theaters might drop it by next weekend, when Toy Story 4 and the Child’s Play remake are released. (The Avon and Jane Pickens have both announced it’ll be carry over for a second week.)
