The Cable Car celebrates its 40th birthday by screening 24 consecutive hours of films from 1976, the year it first opened. The marathon starts at noon on Saturday with Peter Sellers in The Pink Panther Strikes Again, and also includes Car Wash, Rocky, and Carrie. Insomniacs will be treated to behind the scenes punk documentary The Blank Generation (2am) and David Bowie in the weird alien epic The Man Who Fell To Earth (3:30am). The event concludes at 11:45am on Sunday with Sidney Lumet’s great, terrifying Network.
