I’ve surely seen more movies from 1987 than any other year. I was six at the time, and my parents used their top-loading VCR to copy pretty much every movie that played on HBO and Showtime, even though those networks showed the same new releases over and over and over anyway. La Bamba, Moonstruck, Harry and the Hendersons, Police Academy 4. Robocop, Predator, Throw Momma From the Train. Adventures In Babysitting, Dirty Dancing, Mannequin. Maid To Order, Who’s That Girl?. Rob Reiner’s 1987 comedy The Princess Bride came out in September of that year, and unlike most of those other movies it’s getting a big screen 30th anniversary revival. If you’re in the second half of your thirties you probably have very fond memories of this epic romantic adventure comedy.
Screenings are at 2pm and 7pm at Showcase Cinemas Providence Place and Warwick
