Surf movies are their own niche of documentary filmmaking, but Crystal Voyager is no ordinary surf movie. This 1973 Australian cult favorite is so iconic in its home country that it was one of the first 50 movies to be preserved by the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. A loose portrait of surfer George Greenough, Crystal Voyager will be presented with a live score by Nashville guitar instrumentalist William Tyler. Presented by Westerly Sound and the United Theatre, the fourth annual Time and Tide Surf Film Festival also includes some shorts, and afterwards at 9:30pm Skyway Man plays an afterparty upstairs at the Malted Barley (42 High Street, Westerly).
