Tiverton-based artist Tom Deininger is the subject of Trash Artist, a Dorry-nominated documentary short about plastic waste and making art from discarded toys. Fitting, then, that he should get a solo show at POP, an emporium of twentieth-century tchotchkes and cultural ephemera. In addition to the found sculptural work, Deininger is showing layered digital portraits, a handful of large paintings, and what the press release describes as “the lewdest upholstery you’ve ever seen”. Ambient western quintet SUSS [pictured] and Dorry nominee Museum Legs provide music.
The show opens at 7pm; music starts at 9pm.
