Rhode Island author Jen Sternick and her high school friend Tom Wilinsky have been collaborating together for a while now on stories for LGBTQIA teens. Now they’ve published their first novel, Snowsisters, about two girls thrown together at a high school writing conference. One is a pedigreed feminist lesbian from New York, the other is a closeted, military-bound fanfic writer from a New Hampshire dairy farm. You can probably guess what happens next. Literary review Kirkus calls it a “thoroughly satisfying” book about how “real leadership is harder than simply condemning those who make harmful choices.” This event is an official book launch.
