This one crossed my radar at the last minute, so I don’t know too much about it. Denizen Arts is a collaboration between dance/performance artist yon Tande and theatre/movement artist Jude Sandy, and an earlier version of this performance took place at AS220 back in April. This is from the artist statement: “Walk the (pink) Elephant is a work-in-progress exploration of absence, crafting a ritual of reckoning and regeneration in the face of cataclysmic loss. It memorializes and opens ground in the wake of the decimation of multiple generations of (often queer) artists of color by HIV/AIDS and the consequent erasure of their creative legacies, their living, loving and dying.”
It’s Gallery Night/Third Thursday, so the museum has free admission.
