Tarshire Battle

I don’t have too many specifics on the interactive pop-up installation opening this week at the Hera Gallery, but the show is co-produced by the Indigenous Empowerment Network (based in Exeter at the Tomaquag Museum) and the South County chapter of national organization Showing Up for Racial Justice. From the press release: “this is an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the work of local artists of color, explore how privilege shapes an individual’s narrative, and communicate the ways in which collective privilege is tied to institutional oppression… Visitors will grapple with the layers that make up their own privilege and white people may gain a greater understanding of white privilege.” A free all-ages program of indigenous storytelling happens Saturday at 1pm.
