A private security guard cradles a head in his arms, his own neck spewing plant leaves while something in the foreground burns. The head is talking. That’s just one of several hyperactive video screens competing for dominance with one another in Take Karaoke, a gay bar-inspired installation by Baltimore-based duo Wickerham and Lomax. Photos from the opening show crowd members actually using the mics, although when the room is empty the mics seem vaguely like booby traps. I didn’t sing. Maybe I should have? The show is called Take Karaoke, after all.
