Japanese director Makoto Shinkai scored a home run across Asia when his anime body-swapping romance Kimi no Na wa. (Your name.) became a massive hit. It was the #1 movie in Japan last year, though it’s only playing in limited release in the United States. (That’s pretty standard.) The unusual romantic plot deals with a comet and the lives of two teenagers – a Tokyo boy who hates the city and a rural girl who wants nothing more than to live in Tokyo. The movie hangs on at Providence Place for a third week, though this is probably your last chance to see it on a big screen.
